How to travel to a concert abroad

The key rules for travelling from Poland to a concert in another country. Valid as of 10.2026, so check the current rules before you go.

Which documents do I need?
In EU countries, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland a valid ID card or passport is enough. For the United Kingdom you need a passport and an electronic travel authorisation (ETA, £20 from 8.04.2026), issued only on GOV.UK.
  • Take your EHIC card. It is free, but it does not replace travel insurance.
  • For named tickets, the name must match your ID.
  • A child needs their own document.
How much alcohol and tobacco can I bring back?
Between EU countries you carry goods for your own use duty free. Above these amounts customs may ask whether they are for sale:
GoodsAmount per person
Cigarettes800 sztuk
Mocny alkohol10 litrów
Wino90 litrów
Piwo110 litrów
From the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway (outside the EU) the limits are much lower, for example 1 l of spirits, 4 l of wine, 16 l of beer and 40 cigarettes when returning by land.
Vignettes and road tolls
Czechia, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Switzerland require a motorway vignette. You can buy it online as an e-vignette linked to your number plate; buy it only on the official website. In Germany cars do not pay motorway tolls, but many city centres are low emission zones that require a sticker.
Phone and roaming
Roam like at home applies in the EU and EEA (until 2032). The United Kingdom and Switzerland are not covered, so check your plan with your operator. Save the ticket in the organiser's app for offline use, as reception near the venue can be weak.
